Auto-Download

With auto-download on for a podcast, each new episode is downloaded to the server as soon as a refresh finds it. It's set per podcast.

• Web: open the podcast, open its settings (Podcast Options), and turn on Download Future Episodes Automatically.
• Mobile: on the podcast's page, turn on Auto-download to server.

Auto-download only queues anything while Enable Server Downloads is on under Settings → Admin → Download Settings.

Pair it with Delete downloads when finished (see Downloads) and the server keeps only the episodes you haven't heard yet.

Auto-downloading also matters for AI ad detection: ads are found on the server's copy, which only lines up with what you hear if you play that same copy.

On your phone

The mobile apps can also download new episodes to the phone itself: Auto-download to device on the podcast's page. See Downloads for that, for keeping your queue downloaded, and for WiFi-only downloading.
